Welcome to Caversham Court Gardens, by the river in Reading

Come and enjoy the beauty and long history of Caversham's hidden gem, Caversham Court Gardens on the bank of the River Thames.  Owned and cared for by Reading Borough Council with support from The Friends.  Open and accessible to all every day except Christmas Day from 8 a.m. to dusk, entry free.

The Gardens remain open (subject to the availability of RBC staff to open and close the facility).  When this is so, the gardens provide an opportunity for individuals to exercise whilst following current Government guidelines on social distancing in respect of coronavirus.

The gardens won the prestigious Green Flag Award, as well as a Green Heritage Site award again in 2019. The Green Flag singles out parks that are clean, well run, and welcoming, and the Green Heritage Site accreditation shows the history of the site is valued and conserved, and that people are helped to appreciate it.

We recently ran a photography competition to mark the 10th anniversary of the re-opening of the gardens following extensive refurbishment work supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
